Ouch

Braver than me, that's for sure. The horse did actually roll clean over her, I missed that bit, and then she walked away. The first aiders said only bruises.

OM Gosh this is a fabulous sequence. I am afraid I ALWAYS miss these types of sequences because my first reaction is to drop my camera and hold my breath hoping horse and rider are okay.

I missed what would have been a very dramatic one last year, where the rider hadnt tightened his girth and was doing barrel racing. When he spurred the horse on for home the saddle started moving backwards, slid over to the side and the rider landed face down in the sand, the horse went on to jump over the entry/exit gate where there were about two dozen people standing, fortunately the one mother saw what was happening as two little girls were doing the opening and closing of the gates, and yanked the one child out of the way. The horses hoof still came down on the edge of her one foot!!! Of course as I saw the saddle slipping(I took three shots) I stopped shooting and put the camera down ready to go to the rider's aide!! Oh well. Fortunately in this instance the horse and rider were also okay after the rider had been taken off to the hospital for a good check over.

Well done this is great, and I am glad to see you are getting better light to shoot in!
